Yannick Thoraval is a writer, teacher and freelance communications consultant.
He holds a PhD in creative writing, and has written two novels.
Yannick has published non-fiction work in The Australian Financial Review, The Big Issue, The Australian and Huffington Post.
His first novel, The Current, was commended in the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for an Unpublished Manuscript. His second novel, White Foam, was shortlisted for the Richell Prize and highly commended in the Jim Hamilton Award.
Yannick was also the managing editor of Home Truths: An Anthology of Refugee and Migrant Writing.
Before embracing his portfolio career as teacher and freelance writer, Yannick worked as a copywriter in marketing and communications, and as a senior communications adviser in the Victorian State Government Department of Premier and Cabinet, Australia.
